Solar Panels
Solar panels have been generating electricity from the sun for decades in places all around the world and the UK is no exception to this.
In the UK we may not have the brightest sun or the hottest summers, however the sun is still strong enough to provide solar radiation to convert using solar photovoltaic panels into useable electricity throughout the year. The low voltage electricity generated by the solar panels can be converted using a suitably matched grid tied inverter to power electrical items in the home or business.
If you use more electricity than you generate with the solar panels then you simply buy the extra need from the national grid in the same way as you are doing now. However, should your solar panels generate more electricity than your consume then you can sell the surplus energy back to the grid through your utility company. This is then used by someone else through their normal supply.
Not only do solar panels reduce your energy bills they also reduce your carbon footprint.
