Air Venting

Sealed pressurised solar thermal systems need to have a mechanism to allow any air in the pipework to escape. Air is usually present during installation and commisioning or if the system has to be drained for repairs or modifications. Automatic air vents use a float mechanism to allow are to escape but not fluid. These are common devices found in central heating boilers. However due to the possibility of high temperatures in solar systems conventional automatic air vents are not suitable for solar systems.
